Glaucia Faria Young is an engineering director at Microsoft, focused on Windows security data and intelligence. She has been working in the security industry since 2011 with experience leading and managing teams focused on protecting people and systems from malicious behavior and digital threats.

Glaucia has worked for more than 20 years in the technology industry, holding various roles in testing/QA, software engineering, data science, and management in Microsoft US. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at AMTSO (Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization).

She joined the CleanApps Advisory Board because she supports the CleanApps.org mission, and wants to provide users safe and productive computing experiences, and protect billions of people from malware, fraud, and privacy breaches.

Dennis Batchelder

Dennis has spent almost 30 years in the software industry with a focus on security. He led the anti-malware team at Microsoft, is the President of AMTSO (the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization), and is the co-founder and President of AppEsteem, a pioneering company that helps the security industry identify the most consumer-friendly apps, as well as potentially dangerous apps that could harm consumers.

Having dedicated much of his career to fighting on behalf of consumers and against malware, Dennis believes strongly in CleanApps.org’s mission to create a safer, healthier internet where responsible businesses thrive and consumers’ security and privacy is protected.

With 19 years experience in the software and technology sector, Rob brings a deep background in software distribution, marketing and sales.

Rob also owns development and operations of the marketing technology stack including over 30 websites, multiple ESP platforms, omni-channel messaging, in-product purchasing, installers, licensing, subscription, analytics and mobile.

Linda Sherry is the Director of National Priorities at Consumer Action, a national consumer education and advocacy non-profit. A well-recognized and frequently quoted consumer advocate, Linda is an expert on consumer rights, responding regularly to requests for interviews and background information about consumer protection issues from the national and local media, Congress and federal regulators.

Linda, along with her Washington, DC-based team, participates in coalitions working to improve consumer protections, including privacy rights, access to justice and corporate practices. She’s also content editor for Consumer Action’s popular website, www.consumer-action.org.

Linda joined the CleanApps Advisory Board because she’s passionate about the goal of creating a safer online ecosystem, and thinks she can help achieve it by sharing her consumer protection expertise and perspective with CleanApps.org leaders, app developers, sellers, and marketers.

 

Larry Bridwell

Larry brings more than 25 years of information security and security testing experience to WCL.

Prior to joining WCL, Larry served as Vice President of Global Security Strategies at AVG Technologies (AVG). There he worked closely with the technology groups to determine current and future malware trends, develop and promote best practices and protection strategies using AVG security products.  Before AVG, Larry was Program Manager for Content Security Programs at ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business.  In this position, Larry was responsible for developing testing and certification programs for products that provide security from malicious code attacks and desktop intrusion.  He also served as manager of the Anti-Virus Product Developer’s consortium (AVPD) as well as managing and authoring ICSA Labs’ highly regarded annual Virus Prevalence Survey. Additionally, Larry represented AVG and ICSA Labs in industry and government working groups, conferences and helped raise the awareness of users to malware, internet security, and related issues.

Larry continues to be active in various national & international anti-virus and malicious software working groups such as Association of anti Virus Asia Researchers (AVAR), European Institute of Computer Antivirus Research (EICAR), Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC),  and Department of Homeland Security’s Software Assurance Working Groups.  A frequently demanded speaker, he presents at IT security conferences globally. having presented at conferences like Virus Bulletin, EICAR, AVAR,  RSA, Comdex, and InfoSec World.
